How to get to ours
while Road TrippIn'
You'll find us 1km from the Romanian Route66 😉 specifically the DN66 – between the A1 motorway and the Transalpina. Access to the infamous pass is via Obarsa Lotrului, 50 km away. Alternatively, choose the connection in Novaci through the impressive Jiu Canyon. The mountain- & extreme sports meccas of Parang and Straja are just a 45-minute drive from ours, as is the CORVIN Castle.
sustainably, by Train
Highly recommended, especially for hikers and cyclists, is the DACIA EXPRESS long-distance train, which runs daily between Vienna or Budapest (HU) and Bucharest (RO). Get off at DEVA or SIMERIA and take either the regional train or the ZMK bus for the last leg of your journey to PUI. Traveling by train not only contributes to your most sustainable mobility, but is also the most comfortable and practical way to stay relaxed, flexible and to enjoy the scenery along the way.
sporty, by Bike & Hike
The well-marked trail VIA TRANSILVANICA in the TERRA DACICA section leads directly to us through the SUREANU Mountains, passing highlights such as SARMIZEGETUZA REGIA and the FUNDATURA PONORULUI, which is just a stone's throw from Pui. Located at the foot of the RETEZAT NATIONAL PARK, our spot can also be your ideal outdoor base to experience its alpine wilderness or to gently readjust to civilization.
good & cheap, by Coach
The NORMANDIA long-distance bus and the local minibus ZMK run several times a day along the DN66 through Pui. The bus stop is about 1.5 km from our campsite and also a great option for exploring the nearby highlights of the surrounding region.
